Baking Dish
A Baking Dish is used for many different types of cooking. Often they are used to make casseroles. A casserole is a shallow, open, cooking vessel, designed primarily for use in the oven.
Casseroles are typically made of ceramic but can also be made of glass or metal and a huge part of Baking Dishes. Casseroles may be round or square, and typically have side’s perpendicular to their bottoms. They may or may not have lids.
Casseroles resemble baking pans or dutch ovens, and can sometimes be used interchangeably with these other vessels. They are a very versatile part of Baking Dishes. That is why you can find them so very often.
